I am a white male from England and I don't approve of the Anglican Church, so I am a Puritan. I am a fisher and I am in the middle class society. I am being exiled from England for my religion, so I am going to America to practice my religion freely. I'm going to live in the New England colonies, specifically Plymouth, Mass., where other Puritans took refuge in the late 1620s. It is 1623, about 2 years after the first Pilgrims came to Plymouth.
I am the 1st born son of very rich parents from England in an upper class society. Some would concider me to be a gentleman. I origninally came to America under the London Company Charter with about 100 other men. We founded Jamestown in 1607. All of us were more interested in finding gold than farming. We quickly found out that we were highly unequipped for battling the elements. Some of us died, but thanks to the inspiring leadership of John Smith, banded together to make survival, not profit, the biggest goal. It is now 1611, the past couple of years have been rough because we have not had any profitable exports. However, with John Rolfe's relationship with the Indians, we were shown a plant called tobacco. We are hoping to look to harvest tobacco and have a sucessful export in a year.
I am a white male coming by myself to Virginia as an indentured servant. I could not afford to pay for my trip to the New World, so I agreed to 7 years of work for someone wealthier than myself. I am a member of the Anglican church. I left England for a chance to make a better life for myself after my contract is over.
I am a white male coming to the plymouth colonies. I will be an indentured servant until I pay off the debt I accumulated in England. I left England because it was either be an indentured servant, or go to jail. I will not be bringing any family with me, and I do not have a profession.

I am English woman coming to America for religious freedom. I do not agree with the church of England. I want to reach New England in the Plymouth colony with my family of three. My husband was asked to take the position of a minister there and study at a local college. I myself will partake in some of the social events at our new church willingly. We are so excited to make our home in New England.

My mom, little sister, whose 5, and older brother, whose 19, and my widowed Aunt, come with my father who is going to be the minister of the new church, begging for us all to come with. We are middle class just trying practice our religion of freedom. My Father who is very strong minded wanted us to get a better Education on religion, and the Anglican church does not do, according to my father. My Mother who is going to be the new midwife for our new home.

I am a female born in England. My family and I are Puritans, and do not approve of how the Anglican Church is changing. Because of this, we have received much religious percecution. We have decided to travel to America and live in Plymouth Colony, where we hope to have religious freedom. My husband, a minister, and I have 5 children. We run a very strict household. Our children are expected to go to school everyday, and I take care of our home. We are looking forward to attending many town gatherings and meeting all of the new people.

I am white man from England. I do not agree with the Anglican Church. It is too alike the papist rule of the Catholic Church. More emphasis should be put on bible reading and education should be more highly valued. Therefore I am a Puritan and I will be heading out for America soon, with my wife and three sons. We hope to find freedom to practice our beliefs.
I am a white male from England. I am a member of the Anglican Church and I left England with no family. It is the year 1645, and I am leaving England because I am unemployed and our economy is very depressed. I don’t have much money and am in search of a way to make more in America. I’m on a ship that was funded by a joint stock company. The people on my ship invested in a stock share, with the goal of receiving an equal share of the profits. I plan to make a living farming in Virginia.
After 5 years of working on a plantation as an indentured servant, I am finally free. I will be able to work for the good of myself now. My religious backings in the Anglican church help me along, as I strive for a better life.
I am a poor white woman leaving England. I have a husband, who is out of work. We have no children. My husband will be an indentured servant while I try to make a living on my own. It will be hard for awhile, but if we make it... life will be better than if we stay here. We also felt like we needed to leave because of our religious views. We dont agree with the Anglican Church, so we must go to where we can believe what we want and have a life however we want.
It is 1629 and I am a white child traveling with his family to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. We were one of the first 400 settlers to land in Massachusetts. Mostly the whole ship was Puritan like me, but not all. We celebrated the first Thanksgiving on July 8,1629. My father started working as soon as we landed, he is a tailor.
I'm a white man from England trying to escape the binding grip of the Anglican Church, therefore I am a Puritan as well as a farmer. My family of four; myself-30, my wife-29, my son-5, and my daughter-5 are emigrating to Plymouth Massachusetts to start our new life. While the wife takes care of the kids at home, I am out on the farm nearly the entire day from sunrise to sundown. We hope to make a better living here in Massachusetts with the new church and the new life.
Here in England we are having many problems. Due to the economic hardships along with the relious conflicts we have been having here, my family and I are leaving for America. As a puritan, we will be headed into the New England colonies reigion, specifically, Massachusetts. Here we will be able to worship freely, and I, a minister, will be able to help the community grow in the Puritan Faith. My wife and children will also benefit, and my children will get a great eductation. Our moving from Europe is our last hope.
I am a female and was born in England, and have lived here for 17 years, but now my family decided to move to the Plymouth, Mass. It's been a few years since they started the colony and i hear a man named John Smith saved them from going under. My family and i have decided to leave to England for this colony due to our disagreements with the church. We want our own freedom and are fed up with England. I hope this new life that we start will be better then one. Hopefully i'll even find a future husband!
I am a white male coming to America from England. I was banished because i do not agree with the beliefs of the Anglican Church. I am planning on settling the New England region along with the other Puritans that i am traveling with. I am part of the middle class and have a job as a tailor. I am coming over with my wife and 2 children. It is around 1625.
I am a black male from Africa. I was separated from my family and forced into leaving my home land to go to the Chesapeake region. I am owned by a very rich white man who is a plantation owner. I work on his land to help him produce tobacco. I am treated like dirt. When I do something wrong I get beat in some way. I have learned the ways of the Catholics and am now a catholic my self.
I am a rich single male going to Jamestown. I am going because I am the third child in my family so I won’t get any land from my family. It seems like I will be able to find lots of gold and become very rich by going there. I am catholic and I don’t agree with the Anglican Church.
I am a white female, and i come from a small family. I am the youngest of the children an I currently live in the England. I am a puritan and it is not allowed in England. They have very strict rules about religion. so i was to move to America so i can be free to practice which ever religion i choose, and not be punished for it. We are very poor, so trying to find farming land will be hard, but i bet our life will be much better in America than it is now.
I am a white female from England. I do not agree with the views of the Church of England (I am a Puritan/separatist). In order to escape religious persecution, I came over to the New World and settled in Plymouth, Massachusetts with the rest of my family - my husband, children, and servants. We are a middle class family. My husband is planning on being educated to become a minister. My two boys will be going to a grammar school, and my five young girls will be staying at home with me, while I teach them how to run the household.
I am a white female fleeing from religious persecution in England. I do not agree with the Anglican churches and I am only looking out for myself and most of all my family. I have 5 children who I will continue to take care of and do the chores around home, while my husband will continue as a merchant. We will now be able to worship as we wish in Plymouth Massachusetts and we will lead a happy life. My husband will work to keep us up in the middle class, and we will be joined by our fellow friends from England also fleeing religious persecution, as well as starting up new churches and religious views that everyone agrees on.
Hello, I am a very well respected, rich gentleman from England. My fellow white noblemen and there 2nd born sons are traveling with me to dig our way to riches by mining for gold and silver in the New World. From what I hear, I am sailing with The London Company to colonize a region called Virginia. If all goes as planned, this new settlement while by prosperous and make both England and most importantly myself more wealthy.
I am a white male from England with a wife and two kids. Being a Puritan minister I was angry and upset with the teachings of the Anglican Church. Therefore, my family and I decided to separate from the Anglican Church in 1608. Many other Puritans joined us and we became known as Separatists because we were separating ourselves from the Anglicans. My family and I were led by a young man by the name of William Bradford to the town of Leyden. We however found it very hard to make a living in Leyden and made another decision to move to America. Because everyone in our group was short of money and would not be able to afford the trip, we formed a joint-stock company with other emigrants and investors who agreed to pay for our trip in return for half the profits. So in 1620 my family and I boarded the Mayflower where we sought to make a living and practice our religion freely in America. We landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts and before going ashore I signed the Mayflower Compact which stated that I would would act justly to my fellow Puritans. Being a minister I immediately began a church group where we prayed and practiced Puritanism. As for my kids they are attending school getting a good education.

I am a white female from England. I left because my husband wanted to seek a better fortune so we left as indentured servants to the Southern colonies. We resided in Virginia. Once we arrived there, my husband died was quickly diagnosed with sickness and disease and died. I also lost my two sons, leaving me with only my 5 year old daughter. I quickly and easily remarried another man and when he too died, I decided I have had enough and thus I took my daughter to Pennsylvania, where it was a better enviroment for women. There I stayed and practiced my religion as an anabaptist.

It is 1629. I am a female leaving England for religious purposes. My family and I disagree with religious practices here, particularly indulgences, so in order to avoid prosecution have decided to come to America. Will, my husband, is a carpenter. Our 3 children will be coming along as well. We plan to settle in Massachusetts Bay Colony. We have heard many good things about this colony and hope to become successful and have more freedoms than are available here.
I am a white female and a part of the Church of England. I am 16 years old and I am going along with some others girls, who are not much older than me, to the southern colonies. We are being sent to the southern colonies to become wives of the men who are there. Mostly rich men. I come from a middle class family and my father is hoping that i will marry a rich man. Me, i don't care if he is rich or not i just want him to be kind to me.
